Holy Spirit Lead Me

I need to be reminded to let the Holy Spirit lead me each day.

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. – Galatians 5:24‭-‬25 NLT

    (Proverbs 27:1-3) What a day today was. Surprises at every turn. So this morning I used my “snow blower” for the first time. I’m sorry to say (Mom & Dad 🙁 ), that that thing is not much more than a gas-powered shovel. I think I could have do it by hand faster. Well, can’t complain about the price I guess. Got to work with an unplowed parking lot, but behold there was 1 clearly open spot for me to park, yeah! It was nice to have gotten up at 5:30 again. I was feel pretty good today, pretty much back to my old self. Well after continuous looks at the UPS package tracking it appeared that I wouldn’t get my new PowerBook until tomorrow….

    What Has Today Brought?

    I’d haveto say that all-in-all it was a decent day. I would have preferred to get a bit farther along in my data-entry, I spent a good portion of the day generating mailing lists. I would have to say that about the best parts of today were getting up early and having some good devotion time and breakfast before I headed off to work. I think both of those things have proven to make my mornings more productive. This evening wasn’t too bad. I didn’t get quite as much accomplished tonight as I had hoped but I did manage to have a rather tasty steak and potato supper, I also began creating an actual budget I hope to be sticking by.     What’s Up With Me Today…

    Of course, anyone that read my blog earlier, or will read my earlier post, will know that my day started out kind of crappy. Let’s just say that my mind and emotions got the better of me. Thanks to God for great friends and encouragers. I’m not sure if perhaps Caristy read my blog and told John to invite me out with the seminary students for lunch but it made a huge difference in my day. I won’t doubt that this was just God at work. I also got some very encouraging words from Cassie, thanks. I kind of shared breifly tonight with Andrew about the issue I have, and what caused all my problems this morning.     Another Recent IM Session . . .

    Youth Group Kickoff…

    Well, today work was pretty normal. Nothing too special. We had the youth group kickoff and things seemed to go pretty well. I got over to the church about 5:15 or so to get the sound system & projection equipment all setup. I worked on fine tuning OpenSong a little during break at work and then finished up with adding some announcements Andrew had. Maralee was willing to run presentation. My only problem with OpenSong thus far is that it has slow transitions. I still think it’s a pretty good tool for free on the Mac. We had a good intro meeting as small group leaders. We’ve got a great group of leaders this year, we always do, it’ll be fun working with them. The…

    John Confirms Jesus

    (John 1:29-34) So, John didn’t know Jesus really, other than what God had revealed to him. However, the key things that God revealed to him was how he would recognize who Jesus was. We see here that Jesus came to John to be baptized. Even though, as far as John was concerned, he wasn’t worthy to baptize Jesus that is what Jesus required of him. He did this and then John saw first hand the Holy Spirit come down onto Jesus, and this was exactly what God had told John would happen. At that point John had no doubt at all that this was Jesus. He told everyone what he had been told and experienced.
