This week is supposed to be the start of the training taper before the River Bank Run 25K next week. With a long interval run this morning it’s hard to think of this being a taper, but there isn’t a run scheduled for Saturday according to the plan I’m following so I guess that signifies a taper. ? It honestly kind of surprised me how close I was to getting in a half marathon distance in this morning. With the first hour of the run being a normal slower run I enjoyed a good time of worship and prayer. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyiRun #RiverBankRun
It was another frigid cold morning. Despite the cold, and the struggle, I kept going. … This past year has been struggle to build things back up again. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GroundhogMarathon #RiverBankRun

Especially remembering those in Sierra Leone that impacted me. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water

Once I actually got going things were good for the first 10 miles, it got a a little harder but I just stayed focused getting to the end and worried less about my pace. I enjoyed catching my longtime running partner, and his co-worker, as I passed by be his house on my run. Nice to have some encouragement along the way. I had a tough time after my run with my recovery. Helps to have home projects that needed my attention and to keep me going….
