    Just Another Tuesday Morning 10K

    Since I kind of felt at an odd place training plan-wise I decided to do a long and hard run. I did however make sure I spent some time connecting with God through prayer and some worship music. During my run I couldn’t help feel blessed, and thankful, for my quick recovery from my surgery. I had the impression that I would have weeks of no running, but my recovery went so well I was feeling good for a run within a week. I also was reminded that just a little over a year ago I had just returned from a trip to Sierra Leone Africa. I will never forget my experience there and the impact it has had on my life.     What Difference Does A Drilled Well Make?

    Something that may not really be understood when people hear that #HWI helps to put in wells in Africa. The wells that Hope Water International partners with #WorldHope are drilled wells. These wells go down deep to clean water, and they overcome the challenges of the dry season.     I Might Need To Adjust My Half Marathon Training

    So yesterday I happened to PR for a half marathon. The “problem” is that it was only a half marathon training run for a half I’m doing in July. My Endomondo training plan has my goal set for a 9:22min/mi pace come race day. Well I ended up blowing that time out of the water by finishing a training run half marathon with an 8:49min/mi pace. So I think my current goal is too conservative. It probably doesn’t help that I continually keep pushing myself beyond the training plan paces. I have a hard time managing my pace.

    Picking Up The Pace On A Wednesday Training Run

    I had the opportunity to witness, first hand, the water situation in Sierra Leone, Africa. It is an honor that Hope Water Intl is working with World Hope Intl in a joint mission to bring clean water to Africa. I am proud to know that #WHI is not just sending Americans into Africa to help and leave, but rather they train and employ locals to carry out the mission. Whether they need drivers, administration, or well drillers, nearly everyone is a national. I didn’t get a chance to hear each of their stories on how they got to where they are today.
