Today marks the last of my longer training runs as the taper begins before marathon day. The temp this morning was in the high teens which resulted in a pretty frosty beard. I ended up pushing things a little harder than the training plan called for, but I was trying to make it back home at a decent time. I ended up a bit slower the second half because I pushed things a bit harder than I should have, but that’s just the way it goes. Decided to “follow” the #Endomondo training plan today to get a longer interval run in. So far I’ve been doing some mix of the #HWI training plan and the Endomondo one. We’ll see how well that works out for me. It was a very cool morning for a run, I was pretty surprised when I stepped out the door. It made for great weather for a run. While I listened to a #worship running mix I focused on praying for my wife and kids. Life has been challenging recently with the kids. I’m glad they are back in school but that is presenting it’s own challenges as well. #GRMarathon #Run4Water
This morning I opted to run without the cleats, since I could see that the sidewalks looked to be mostly cleared. Unless there is snow covering the sidewalks the cleats just don’t feel very comfortable to run in. Enjoyed another 5+ mile training run this morning, even with the light snowfall. I haven’t signed up for any virtual races yet but I might so so. Let’s hope that the #COVID19 pandemic gets under control and more races don’t get cancelled into the summer months.

Finally got out this morning for my first run since the marathon. Doing a reverse taper, doing the training plan in reverse, as a way to ease back in. Felt great to be out there again, despite the cold and rain. #HWI
