Responding to the Needs of Others Around You

I have, at times, been cognizant of the needs of those I’ve been in connection with. Most often the help has come by way of financial assistance. There have been other times that non-financial needs have arose and I’ve responded, but those times seem to have been in the minority.

Being Intentional About Seeing, And Meeting, The Needs of Those Around Us

We are called to not only help our brothers and sisters in Christ, but to help all those in need around us. I’m reminded of the book the 10 Second Rule.

There are so many needs all around us. How often do we simply turn a blind eye all because of our own selfish desires? I know that I have. Whether it’s at home or at the grocery store, the challenge is to put others before ourselves.

Warning: Google Video Not Safe

So, I just wanted to post this out there to warn anyone that I know. I decided to check out what was new with Google Video and took a look by the Top 100 list. To my horror I found that, at least by the description, that Google Video is not safe from a content perspective. The top videos had some sort of sexual or perhaps even pornographic description. One nice thing is that Google does provide a way to report a movie because of this type of issue, however there still isn’t any safe way to browse Google Video. They even list in their FAQ that they dont’ have SafeSearch working yet for Google Video. This is a huge mistake on their part I…

I have to believe that every runner has those days where you have to sell yourself on the idea of getting your run in. Even though it is now considered the “off season” for the West Michigan #HWI team, the need for clean water hasn’t been completely met. Thanks to the work of the team this past year many thousands more will have access to clean water, but the harsh reality is that there are still thousands more that will still not have access to clean water. This is another reason why I feel compelled to keep running, even through the winter months, to continue to bring awareness to the huge need that is still before us. Sluggish Training Run But Thinking of ETC

Another training run in the books. I could definitely feel the soreness in my legs from the half marathon still. I could also tell that some bad eating the previous few days was affecting how I was feeling while running. I really need to get back on track with things. I did enjoy another day of switching up my running routes. Alimamy, our Enable The Children sponsored child, was on my mind early in my run since we got our welcome packet the day before. I’m torn knowing that life for a disabled person in Sierra Leone is a drastically harder life compared to the U.S. I pray that God would continue to bring more light and opportunities to the children of #ETC. #HWI #GRMarathon…
