It was cold, wet, windy, and snowy for the #HotCiderHustle this morning, but it was fun to see a few #HWI teammates out on a Saturday morning. I didn’t bring home any medal but I still felt really good about my run given the ground conditions. I made sure to wear my pullover cleats which helped me avoid a lot of slipping and sliding while keeping up my pace.

Got my training run in before the #HWI Group Run kickoff started. Love hanging out with the team. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Responding to the Needs of Others Around You I have, at times, been cognizant of the needs of those I’ve been in connection with. Most often the help has come by way of financial assistance. There have been other times that non-financial needs have arose and I’ve responded, but those times seem to have been in the minority. Being Intentional About Seeing, And Meeting, The Needs of Those Around Us We are called to not only help our brothers and sisters in Christ, but to help all those in need around us. I’m reminded of the book the 10 Second Rule. There are so many needs all around us. How often do we simply turn a blind eye all because of our own selfish desires?…
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NLT As Christian husbands, and fathers, we are in a battle every day for our families. And each day we have the opportunity to do something to continue the fight. “…the more we keep our bodies fit and free from addictions and stuff that slows us down and causes problems, the more energetic and focused we will be to fight those battles for…
When I look back to 2016 at this time I’m pretty amazed at how far I’ve come. At that time I was lucky to probably have gone 1 mile in around 30 minutes, and that was probably mostly walking. Comparing that to my run today I can honestly say that God used running to make a huge change in my life as well as the people of Sierra Leone, Africa. God has blessed me in my running. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
This morning was really not even a full mile farther than Tuesday. Things were a little slower today but that’s just fine, it was still a good solid run. I really need to start working on a new training plan soon. I’ll have to wait to start a new training plan until I’m back I the swing of things after my surgery next week. I’m hoping that I don’t have to take too much of a break from running after my surgery, but we’ll see what happens. I’m still in the fence on whether I’ll be running the full marathon again this year or if I’ll be scaling back to the half marathon. I’ll have to make a final decision once I’ve recovered from my…
