Hitting The Training Run Hard

Today was a short assessment training run, basically 12 minutes of giving it all you’ve got. It’s preceded by, and follows, a 5 minute warmup & cool down run respectively. I did an out-and-back while giving myself some distance for a final cool down walk to home. We’ll see what this means for my final target pace for the Groundhog Marathon.

I’m looking forward to representing Hope Water at the Groundhog Marathon again. My hope is to keep on target with the pace my training plan estimated and to complete it without having to walk. However, I’ve also considered intentionally doing walk/run intervals to ensure that overall I finish with a good time. We’ll see where I land.

    Kicking Things Up A Notch

Today my training run was kicked up a notch with some interval speed work. It definitely tested how recovered I am from the marathon. It’s been awhile since I have done any high intensity runs of substantial length. These sorts of runs do make it hard to spend a lot of time focusing on prayer unfortunately. It did however bring to mind #WhyIRun during some of the intense intervals and help to keep me pushing on. #HWI #Run4Water Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

    Another 5K For Clean Water

Pushed this morning’s training run to a 5K distance, and bumped up the intensity a bit. Just like training for a marathon is not easy or simple, so it is with putting in a well. When I had a chance to learn about the process of putting in a well I was amazed at the amount of work that is done before even putting a drill in the ground. And that actually does start with raising the money to fund the time and materials required to put in a well. There are villages filled with children all over Africa that need our support in bring them hope for the future through a life sustaining well. Will you be a part of the solution to a…

Still Running, Starting A New Plan

I have still been running but just haven’t taken the time to post about them. I ran 13.1 miles last Saturday and around 7 Miles on Tuesday, I did take a break Monday in order to get some extra sleep after a late night. This morning I had another interval training run this morning that kicked my but, however I still ended with more miles then estimated so I it was not all bad. I had actually started a new training plan since my 15K at the River Bank Run isn’t happen. No sense in building up my distance when there isn’t actually a race to run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

If The Weather Permits, Take It Outside

I felt really out of sync this morning. As others have pointed out from the HWP Team what you eat the day before has an impact on your runs. It wasn’t that I ate bad all day but I didn’t fuel myself enough to prepare for my run this morning. I’m still trying to figure out how to manage my eating. I’ve been on this weight loss path and I’m struggling with figuring out how to eat “normal” now that I’m at a healthy weight. I’ve lost 7 pounds beyond my second goal and I really need to stop losing weight. Still some work to do, that’s for sure. [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’864426504′ ]
