    Short Easy Tuesday Training Run

    The #Endomondo training plan called for a short easy run this morning, which really meant for a much slower pace then I ended up averaging. Of course I started out on the right track but as my running time increased so do my speed. It still felt easy, and my heart rate reflected that. The real take away is that I need to work on controlling my pace. I’m pretty sure I can’t sustain that sort of pace for a full marathon.     11 Frosty Beard Miles

    Today marks the last of my longer training runs as the taper begins before marathon day. The temp this morning was in the high teens which resulted in a pretty frosty beard. I ended up pushing things a little harder than the training plan called for, but I was trying to make it back home at a decent time. I ended up a bit slower the second half because I pushed things a bit harder than I should have, but that’s just the way it goes.     Completed My First Marathon…

    Today was a pretty big day for me. I completed my first ever marathon. It was a tough day, with the down pouring rain, wind gusts of 20 some miles per hour, and getting cramps in my legs that slowed me down, I ended the race pretty discouraged. Not to mention I ended up having to be taken to the medic tent after crossing the finish line, which was something my running partner and I had talked about not wanting to have happen to us. Let’s just say it was a pretty humbling experience. I’m so thankful for all of the encouragement from the many Hope Water International runners the kept encouraging me on the way to the finish line.     If The Weather Permits, Take It Outside

    I felt really out of sync this morning. As others have pointed out from the HWP Team what you eat the day before has an impact on your runs. It wasn’t that I ate bad all day but I didn’t fuel myself enough to prepare for my run this morning. I’m still trying to figure out how to manage my eating. I’ve been on this weight loss path and I’m struggling with figuring out how to eat “normal” now that I’m at a healthy weight. I’ve lost 7 pounds beyond my second goal and I really need to stop losing weight. Still some work to do, that’s for sure. [endomondowp type=’workout’ workout_id=’864426504′ ]
