Finishing My Hottest Day 5k

I’ve got a busy day ahead so I needed to knock out the first thing this morning. Since it’s generally supposed to be a hard run day I tried to push it hard, as if I was doing a race. Without having other runs to “compete” with it can be hard to push it to your limits. I had the benefit of getting my run in during the coolest part of the day. The real troupers are the rest of the team that will be tackling their 5k this evening.

    While we all have been impacted by this pandemic the biggest impact is on those that were already struggling. We can’t let the pandemic keep us from continuing to help those in need.     Reflecting On My Time In Sierra Leone

    The TL;DR is: I am blessed more than I ever understood and I will make every effort to give thanks in all circumstances. Also, where God’s love exists there is always hope for something better. As I continue to process my experience in Sierra Leone Africa I can’t help but feel like I spent a week in another world.     Race Pace Training Run

    #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water Only a little wet this morning but it actually felt good by keeping things cooler. Tried to keep at a race pace but as usual my pace was a bit of a roller coaster. Even with music I can’t keep it very consistent from one minute to the next. I need to work on that, but perhaps my consistent race pace is slower than I’d like it to be and that’s why I have such a hard time. I know that I was pushing the limits given how high my heart rate would get. I think maybe it’s time to put aside the training plan that is trying to get me faster and just get out and enjoy the run.
