Running in Community, Getting Through 11 Miles With The Team

The weather was nice and cool for an 11 mile run. I had a great time running with Ryan and Josh. You can go a lot farther than you think when you have a group to help you keep moving towards the finish line.

  • Back At The 5K Training

    I got back outside and returned to using Endomondo for my 5k training. Today’s training had 10 very fast intervals which really seemed to kick my butt by the last couple but I made it through. I did have a personal best for a 5K which was awesome given I’ve been out of it for a week. Was glad to be outside and back into the running routine.     Knocking Out Another Monday Training Run

    I really enjoy being able to just turn on the workout worship music and just run while having one-on-one time, just me and God. This morning the Rusch family was on my mind and is in my prayers. I spent 10 years working at a Christian camp and was blessed to work with some many amazing people serving and ministering to others. I am totally blown away when I hear of the trials many of them end up going through. I do still trust in God’s truth that “in this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.” I can’t even imagine what it is going to be like for the Rusch family but I know that God will be…

    Relegating To The Treadmill

    With my wife out of town I can’t be leaving the kids home alone, this means the treadmill it is. I think this is the first time I’ve been on the treadmill probably in the last 8-10 months. I literally can’t remember the last time I had to use it. For times like these I’m glad we have it or there would be no running. Since the treadmill required significantly less thought, except for changing the speed during the short interval run segment, it gave me ample time to think about the Sierra Leone team and trip. I continue to pray for our team’s planning and the journey to come. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

    Wee Early Morning Run

    Well, this morning was not a typical training run. With having to start work at 5:30 in the morning my focus was mostly on getting done as quick as I could.
