John Confirms Jesus
(John 1:29-34) So, John didn’t know Jesus really, other than what God had revealed to him. However, the key things that God revealed to him was how he would recognize who Jesus was. We see here that Jesus came to John to be baptized. Even though, as far as John was concerned, he wasn’t worthy to baptize Jesus that is what Jesus required of him. He did this and then John saw first hand the Holy Spirit come down onto Jesus, and this was exactly what God had told John would happen. At that point John had no doubt at all that this was Jesus. He told everyone what he had been told and experienced.

“Our kids, by their existence, make a legitimate spiritual claim on our time, our money, and our focus.” – Devotions for Sacred Parenting by Gary L. Thomas I was challenged today in how I approach being a Dad. Too often I choose to focus on everything but my kids. Our time is too short with our kids, and there will be years ahead when we will have all kinds of time to pursue other things. Well, I’m now one year older at 27. I guess I’m kind of starting off this new year of my birth with some changes, LOL. I was able to get up at 5 this morning & be to work by 7. I ate breakfast, watched a little news, did some devotions. I was given a little celebration during break at work too! I was given a birthday balloon and a card from everyone in the office. It was nice to have my birthday be a little more than just another day. That was really the extent of it but it was the best birthday I’ve had in a long while. Some year it might be nice to actually have a party with friends. No biggy…Time To Get Serious: God Can Handle It
Ephesians 1:1-6, today’s study talks mostly of how great and self-sufficient God is. It is pointed out that just by the very complexity and detail of nature, God shows his power and greatness. God didn’t have to create us, but it pleased Him to do so, this is also what gives us hope. God didn’t have to make a way for salvation, but He did because of his love for us. Well, the thoughts for this morning are not very long but our response to God’s grace and self-sufficient power ought to be one of praise and thanksgiving. Amen!
Our Weaknesses, God’s Strength
That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 NLT
