When A Run Turns Into A Fight, With Yourself
This morning wasn’t hard because of the weather, the terrain, or my physical state, this morning my run was consumed with a battle of my emotions and an ugly part of me that rears it’s head every now and then. Unfortunately, I spent little time during my run in worship or prayer, most of it was spent asking God to change my heart. I have struggled with grace taking a back seat when life gets tough, when I’m faced with the reality of an imperfect world. I quickly turn to frustration and anger. Decided to “follow” the #Endomondo training plan today to get a longer interval run in. So far I’ve been doing some mix of the #HWI training plan and the Endomondo one. We’ll see how well that works out for me. It was a very cool morning for a run, I was pretty surprised when I stepped out the door. It made for great weather for a run. While I listened to a #worship running mix I focused on praying for my wife and kids. Life has been challenging recently with the kids. I really enjoy being able to just turn on the workout worship music and just run while having one-on-one time, just me and God. This morning the Rusch family was on my mind and is in my prayers. I spent 10 years working at a Christian camp and was blessed to work with some many amazing people serving and ministering to others. I am totally blown away when I hear of the trials many of them end up going through. I do still trust in God’s truth that “in this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world.” I can’t even imagine what it is going to be like for the Rusch family but I know that God will be…Starting Off Another Week With A 4 Mile Run, And Feeling Good

2nd to the last marathon training run today. Since I took a break yesterday in order to get some extra rest I decided to stick with the #Endomondo plan which called for some speed work, well sort of. ? I spent the slower end of the run lifting many of my family up in prayer, in addition to those in Africa that are still waiting for access to clean water. Our world is full of both physical and spiritual needs.
