Struggling Through Another Round Of Speed Work
Another speed work training run to kick my butt this morning. I pretty much struggled to keep up with the fast 7:27 min/mile pace I was supposed to be maintaining for 4 minute intervals. We’ll see how this winter training goes. I have a feeling it’s going to be challenging to get through speed work once the snow falls. I have a hard time with the idea of having to do my speed work on the treadmill, but I guess I can’t rule it out. Given the intensity of the run this morning, other than asking God to get me through another 4 minute interval, my prayer time was pretty much nil. Not exactly how I prefer my runs to go. Since I had more time today, day off today, I took an extra 4 minutes to cool down. Lost the full stats but caught my average minutes per mile to be 10. Feeling a bit frustrated with that average given that my best average to date was 9:31min/mi, just a week ago. :-/ I feel like I’m getting worse not better. Need to figure out what’s going on.
