Enjoying The Brisk Spring Mornings
It’s been nice to shed some layers as the weather has begun to warm up. I almost feel lighter on my feet just by dropping a layer or two. Besides the great weather it was another excellent time spent listening to the worship workout music and having some one-on-one time with the Lord. # HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
Upgrading My Digital Ocean Mastodon Instance from 3.5.3 to 4.0.2
For the sake of my own reference, and potentially to help others through the process, I’m documenting and sharing here the steps I took to upgrade my #Mastodon instance, that I host with a #DigitalOcean Droplet, from version 3.5.3 to version 4.0.2.
My Longest Run Since The 2019 GR Marathon
Most children in Sierra Leone don’t get to be “just kids” like kids can in America. Many children are the ones responsible for gathering the water that their entire family needs for the day. This results in either no education, or very little. Bringing more clean water to Africa means a better future for the children. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Help Bring Clean Water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr I almost got 9 miles in, which is almost 3 miles beyond the farthest distance I’ve run since finishing the #GRMarathon in October. It definitely felt harder on the last half than the 1st half. I’m glad I was able to get through it without getting let cramps again.
Late Night Saturday Long Run
It didn’t work out to get my run in this morning so I headed out tonight, but it sure was a challenge running into some of those 25+ mile/hour wind gusts. #HWI #Run4Water #GroundhogMarathon #Garmin #Running
Wells And Wellness…And Treadmills
I decided to run on the treadmill this morning for my speed work, partly due to the down pouring rain. It was the toughest training run I’ve had in awhile. I’ve always considered the treadmill as the most boring and dreaded running you can do. I’ve starting to change my opinion on the treadmill. Instead of the dreaded thing I’ve always seen it as, however I have some to respect it, it challenges you in ways that the outdoors doesn’t. Needless to say today the treadmill won. I only made it to 6 miles and cut the last 23 minutes of my run. I did this photo collage to show that I not only #Run4Water but I also run for my health. About 3.5 years…
Stepping This Up On Training Week Two
Hoping to steps things up another notch this week and also get all 4 of my runs in this week. I need to work off all of that Thanksgiving food, like the entire pie I ended up eating myself since no one else wanted/liked it. #HWI #Run4Water #RiverBankRun Give the gift of water: https://timn.me/2020HWI
