First Day in Sierra Leone
I had a great night’s sleep at the hotel. Where we are staying there are multiple buildings of rooms. Each of us has our own room and bathroom. I was honestly blown away with the accommodations. As I mentioned to my wife, I was humbled by the accommodations compared to living conditions we passed by on our drive to the hotel the previous evening. After breakfast, which included eggs, toast, fruit, and a hotdog, we loaded up in the World Hope vehicles on our way to Kethirie for church. It was so amazing to experience worship with the people of Kathirie and listen to the pastor and children’s ministry teacher give messages. What impacted my the most was seeing the people of Kathirie giving offerings…Where Have All The Posts Gone?
So it would seem that I really lost touch with my blog. I wouldn’t be surprised if no reads the thing anymore, although I do know that some have you have bugged me about it. So what’s my excuse? Life. Yeah, I know that’s a poor excuse but I’ve been bust working away trying to do what I need to do if this move is going to happen. It was cold, wet, windy, and snowy for the #HotCiderHustle this morning, but it was fun to see a few #HWI teammates out on a Saturday morning. I didn’t bring home any medal but I still felt really good about my run given the ground conditions. I made sure to wear my pullover cleats which helped me avoid a lot of slipping and sliding while keeping up my pace.
Expanding The Meaning Of Running For Water
So this morning, after making it about a quarter of a mile from home, I realized I had forgotten to grab my water when I walked out the door. At that point I really didn’t feel like going back home and starting my run over. The first half of the run was OK, but the second half was a bit more of a struggle without my water, making my #Run4Water mean even more than normal. As I continued through my run, #WhyIRun was at the forefront of my mind. My struggle doesn’t even compare to the daily struggle for clean water that those in Sierra Leone, Africa face. I had the benefit of a virtually unlimited supply of water waiting for me after the run….
Almost A Tuesday 5K
Starting off the week with a short “easy” run even though my training called for an interval run. Even though I’m typically one to follow a training plan pretty closely, I know where I’m at right know with my fitness level. #5K #training

Great perspective! Have not thought of authority in that way, but so true.
