A Dry And Weary Land

When the dry season hits it can be very hard on people, especially when their only source of water is a small stream, pond, or small hole dug in the ground. What is even worse is the many hand dug wells that just dry up because they don’t go down far enough. When Hope Water helps to put a well in you can be sure it’s a well that won’t dry up during the dry season. When I visited a village in e Sierra Leone, a Peace Corps worker there shared with our team that the well we helped put in literally saved the village during the dry season, as the other 2 wells had dried up.

I’m enjoying these cooler mornings for my training runs. That crispness in the air keeps you cooled down, and for me keeps me energized.

    For Better Or Worse, The Ease Of Google Services And Devices For Kids

    My daughter knows exactly how to send email on our Chromebooks and managed to do so, sending an email to my wife, without any prior direction from me. #kids #technology #parenting #gmail #email #education To provide some context, our home network and devices are all pretty well locked down and managed. Our 7 & 9 year old’s don’t have complete free reign to do whatever they want, at least without bounds. Additionally, their elementary school uses Google for Education and they get school email addresses starting at 3rd grade. A well is the start of helping a village help themselves. The responsibility of the well, and the well-being of the village, is on a team of leaders from the village.     I Am Blessed To Be Able To Run

    Short easy 5 mile training run this morning. My focus this morning was on the Jon Martinson family and the people of Sierra Leone. I can’t begin to know what it’s like to lose a spouse or parent at a young age. It’s hard to believe that a man I worked alongside for years, and was always way healthier than me, is facing his last days. As for Sierra Leone, last night I happened to catch a little montage video of my trip, back in May, that Google Photos made. It brought back so many feelings from my time there.
