    Monday Morning Recovery Run

    ByTim Nolte April 22, 2019
What started out being a pretty easy going run turned out to be much faster than I had expected. I was checking my heart rate the whole time and only once did it rise just a hair past 150. My pace just ended up being what it was based on how I ended up doing with my heart rate. What’s encouraging to me is to see what appears to be my heart health getting better. I feel God has definitely blessed me through my running. Honestly, one of the big helpers with my runs is listening to a worship workout album. There are moments when I am so focused on the song that I forget about the running. I did take some time this morning…

Tackling The Saturday Morning Training Run

    ByTim Nolte April 20, 2019April 20, 2019
I was on the fence about going out this morning. I didn’t get a great night of sleep, and I woke up with a sore throat, so I was concerned whether doing 13 miles was a good idea. Once I actually got going things were good for the first 10 miles, it got a a little harder but I just stayed focused getting to the end and worried less about my pace. I enjoyed catching my longtime running partner, and his co-worker, as I passed by be his house on my run. Nice to have some encouragement along the way. I had a tough time after my run with my recovery. Helps to have home projects that needed my attention and to keep me going….

Talking WPRig and Theming in the Gutenberg Era with Morten Rand-Hendricksen

    ByTim Nolte April 18, 2019April 18, 2019
This month we’re taking a look at the WPRig WordPress framework from its developer Morten Rand-Hendricksen. This will be a live remote presentation with Q&A as time allows. If you want to learn more ahead of the meetup, follow this link https://wprig.io/ “Pave the cowpath” – WordPress could be the thing that paves the cowpath for the modern web, but it isn’t. Underscores used to be the starting theme do build off of, but there was no real standard, and modern, build process. Build Process Modern JavaScript Modern CSS (customer properties, etc) WordPress Coding Standards Code Linting for PHP, JS, CSS Automatic internationalization Code and asset optimization Starter Theme Accessible Modern best-practices Styled out of the box Minimum required files Optional templates Progressive features Gutenberg New…

Focus And Determination Required For This Training Run

    ByTim Nolte April 18, 2019
Today’s training run was an intense interval run that pretty much required my complete focus. I only had 30 seconds to “recover” between my 6 minute long 8 minutes/mile pace intervals, and there were 8 of those. I had quite a few misses, and I was short on my final distance by about .02 miles, but overall I still knocked it out with a good time. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

A Little Sprinkle To Liven Up The Run

    ByTim Nolte April 16, 2019April 16, 2019
I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up running in this morning when the forecast called for rain. It really only ended up being a tiny bit of drops here and there, but I was prepared either way. It’s interesting what you get used to after awhile of running. There was a time that rain meant a treadmill run. These days, unless there is life threatening weather you couldn’t keep me inside. This morning while running I got to thinking about how much the world today seems to be trying to tear families apart. It’s very apparent that Satan knows that he can gain a foothold by attacking families. I see so many throw in the towel on their family all because they…
