Nahum 1:2-6, a God of wrath. The fact that God cannot stand sin, and actually dishes out His wrath because of it, brings a clearer picture of our need for the forgiveness we have through Christ. I think too often we only talk about the love of God, and we don’t see His love in it’s context. God’s love comes to use through Christ. I think we can sometimes easily forget that there really is one single condition of God’s love, that is comes through Christ.

Our time is too short with our kids, and there will be years ahead when we will have all kinds of time to pursue other things.     Mercy and Grace in Relationships

    “When we allow God’s love and mercy to flow through us to our spouse, we will find less conflict, more grace, quicker forgiveness and much more delight at home.” I know that too often, I jump to conclusions and assumptions instead of giving people, especially my wife, the benefit of the doubt. This an area that has produced far more conflict then it could have had I just executed a little grace and mercy first. We have a God that shows us far more grace, love, and mercy than we deserve. So it really goes without question that we need to attempt to do b the same in our relationships, especially with our spouse.

    To recap the studies of the week, let God be God, practice His presence, seek to live a holy life. As I was thinking about it, it seems like whenever we learn something new about God we go and stick Him in a box again. When we get to know God we start to think we know God. The reality of it is we only get glimpses of what God is and until we go to be with Him we will never really know God here on earth.
