Pushing Through An Intense Speed Test Run
Back at it again this morning. It was an intense short training test run. I was hoping to see a #5K #PR but that may have to wait until Saturday when I do the #HotCiderHustle 5K. I had just ran the night before so my body hadn’t really had a ton of recovery time. I’ll be looking forward to representing #HWI at the Hot Cider Hustle. It was nice easy run this morning. The weather was a nice cool 40 degrees, and not much of any wind. I don’t know that I’ll have the chance to return to Sierra Leone, but I am honored that I was able to go and get to know some amazing people there. It’s been nice to shed some layers as the weather has begun to warm up. I almost feel lighter on my feet just by dropping a layer or two. To get good things out of your life, you have to first put good things in. [W]e don’t have a magic hat that allows us to pull something out of nothing. The positive character traits we seek can only result from a daily commitment to prioritize actions and decisions that please the Lord. I don’t know if it’s our American culture, our sinful nature, or something else entirely, but it seems that more often than not we want everything to be easy with little work or effort required. A bit of a wet morning, but not a downpour, so it kept things a little cooler. It was a good thing it was only just shy of 6 miles, as I needed to be able to make it home to get to the bathroom. That last mile was a bit uncomfortable. I was glad to have still gotten up early, even though it was a holiday, to get my run done and enjoy the rest of the day. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4WaterPride, Ego, And Selfishness
