God Has Our Back

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? – Romans 8:31 NLT

This verse should give us the confidence to take on anything. Of course anything that is part of God’s plan and not our own doing. We need to hold on to this truth when we have those bad days where we wonder if it can get any worse or we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles.

    Better Together: Community On Mission

God wants us to share that Good News. But you’re not alone! God wants you to go on mission with other people. Philippians 1:27 says, “You are standing side by side with one strong purpose — to tell the Good News” (TLB). Better Together Devotional God calls us to the #mission of sharing the Good News, but He doesn’t require us to do it all by ourselves. God gives us #community to share in the mission. “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Did I change your mind, with what I said last night? Did I break your heart, by straying so far? From what you have in mind, for my life? Would you change me, from who I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I know I’m nothing without you. Did my words betray, the patience I once claimed? Can’t you see it in my face? I need your grace. Would you change me, from who I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I know I’m nothing without you. Would you save me, from the way I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I can’t see living without you. Would you speak to me? Show me what I need. Change Me – Sanctus Reel

    Starting The Day With God

Whatever you’ve done and whatever you face, turn to God first, each morning. Give him your day, and then allow him to guide each step. Something that I’ve tried to stick to for years is to start my day off with having time with God. I can’t say it always happens, or that it’s always the quality time it should be. We all need time to focus on God, and what better time than first thing in the morning to get our day’s focus in the right place first.  Once-A-Day Bible for Men: http://bible.com/r/9V

This is what is says: “(33b) As in all the congregations of the saints, (34) women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. (35) If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.” As I read those words I found a passage that seems to be used in many church, even my own historically. The thing…
