New Hill Training Route And Focus On Why I Run
New training route this morning, something with a bit more hills. I was still a little soar from the half marathon on Saturday but there wasn’t any noticable increase in pain during my run which is encouraging. I spent time specifically focusing on why I run and thinking back on my time in Sierra Leone. I prayed specifically for our ETC sponsored child and his mother. I also took time to pray for some of my co-workers that I know have been going through some tough life stuff recently. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water #SierraLeone #WhyIRun
Another Tough Interval Training Run
I’m not sure what to make of yet another hard interval run. It is training so to a degree it should be hard. I guess I’m hopeful that in the end I will be better trained for the #GRGus Groundhog Day Marathon come February. I think I consider it a failure when I can’t hit the intervals all right on with the expected pace. Maybe I’m focusing too much on the plan and trying to get better instead of just being content with being ready to simply finish the marathon. There is also the aspect of not losing sight of the reasons I run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
2017 GR Marathon Nostalgia
This morning was a bit like reliving the 2017 #GRMarathon and that means I got home drenched. I think I did well enough pace wise despite the strong winds too. Have to train in all kinds of weather right. #HWI #Run4Water
First “Long Run” of 2021
Started of this new year with a 10K Saturday “long run”, as my training plan called it. I think food has always been something that I’ve used to feel good. Of course, when you live a pretty sedentary lifestyle, that causes weight gain and I struggled with that for many years. I haven’t gained all of the weight back that I lost a few years ago, staying active and running has helped with that. However, my eating habits this past year started to regress.
