Today was a big fight against the new(used) treadmill. I guess it was hill training this morning. Stepping Back To Step It Up
As I keep working on getting back into a regular running routine the part that is also key is the “why” behind it. The mission of raising money, and awareness of the need, for wells in Africa is not complete. I didn’t have it initially in mind to kick the speed up but run started so well that’s what ended up happening. The last mile was a bit tougher which brought my average pace down, but I was still plenty happy with how I did compared to the day before.
Back In The Saddle As The Groundhog Day Marathon Draws Near
After an extra day of rest after my Saturday long run in back at it. It’s crazy to think that 1 week ago I ran in like 40° colder temps. We’ve had a pretty mild winter in Michigan. At this point there is no be telling what marathon day will be like, which is all other more reason to be hitting the pavement regardless of what the weather is like. During my run this morning I enjoyed listening to my running worship music but I also took some time to lift up the many medical needs of those I know. This sort of infrastructure is just not widely available in Africa. Where even most rural homes in the U.S. have had their own well available right outside their home. Imagine having to make a couple of mile trek for a small amount of water to hopeful get through the day. A well changes all of that for a family in Africa.
