Struggling Through A Solo 15 Miles Training Run
It’s tough doing long training runs all by yourself, and 15 miles is no joke. I pretty much got my peak pace at around 10 miles. The final 5 miles was quite a struggle at times, and my lap pace times reflected it. It’s hard to imagine that I’m going to need to go another 11.2 miles beyond what I ran today come marathon day. This year has felt way more off than last year. I got it done nonetheless. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water
Preflight Long Run
Since our family was flying to Minnesota very early the next morning I decided to get my long run in the night before. It started out very strange because as I ran I felt like I was slowly trudging along but when my audio coach gave me updates it was saying I was doing a pace under 9 min/mi which just didn’t seem possible. Then for the first half of the run I was just cruising. The second half of the run was a very different story. I’m not sure why I just hit the wall but it happened. Sluggish Training Run But Thinking of ETC
Another training run in the books. I could definitely feel the soreness in my legs from the half marathon still. I could also tell that some bad eating the previous few days was affecting how I was feeling while running. I really need to get back on track with things. I did enjoy another day of switching up my running routes. Alimamy, our Enable The Children sponsored child, was on my mind early in my run since we got our welcome packet the day before. I’m torn knowing that life for a disabled person in Sierra Leone is a drastically harder life compared to the U.S. I pray that God would continue to bring more light and opportunities to the children of #ETC. #HWI #GRMarathon…
