Hitting The 20 Mile Mark, And I Feel Fine
Wow, what a great 20 mile training run today. That may sound crazy but with the cool weather and the great company of Harvey, Jason, and John it made for a good time. I can definitely tell I ran 20 miles, a little over actually, but I feel very good. Today Started Out Good, But Ended With Me Dropping Facebook Officially
This morning I ran 5+ miles. It was a great time of prayer and thinking of the people in Sierra Leone and being concerned that with #COVID-19 putting people out of work will raising money for more wells be put at risk. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun The day ended with me deactivating my Facebook account, with no real intent on returning, out of frustration with people that call themselves Christ followers, people that I once called friends. Their behavior towards the pandemic makes them appear like they have little regard for human life, or caring about others more than themselves. Some Days Are Just Tough Ones
Today’s run started off good but the second half was a tough to get through. It wasn’t a terrible training run but it wasn’t my best. When someone in Sierra Leone needs to make a trip to find water, there can be some good days, or some bad day. Running For Wells In Africa Means Lives Are Changed
While I have been involved with Hope Water International, I have seen first hand the lives that are changed. Obviously, being able to travel to Sierra Leone Africa I saw what kind of life change can occur for people there. However, the other place that lives are changed are right here within the #HWI Team. The support of each other in the HWI community has helped people accomplish more than they had ever thought. That is another reason #WhyIRun with the HWI Team. Preflight Long Run
Since our family was flying to Minnesota very early the next morning I decided to get my long run in the night before. It started out very strange because as I ran I felt like I was slowly trudging along but when my audio coach gave me updates it was saying I was doing a pace under 9 min/mi which just didn’t seem possible. Then for the first half of the run I was just cruising. The second half of the run was a very different story. I’m not sure why I just hit the wall but it happened.
