Finished Another 3.88mi Run Today
After missing my Tuesday run I got out and tackled another 40 minute run. I’m still not sure what to do about not having a race to train for. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
Finished Another 3.20mi Run Today
Even though I thought that the sidewalks and streets would be cleared or packed down by today, it was still a struggle to maintain much speed. Overall I was able to, on average, stay on target for my training run pace. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun
Best 5K Yet, But What’s The Goal
Another day of enjoying the warmer outside weather. My pace has significantly increased and the last 2 days I’ve done a standard run with no intervals. Well actually, I was doing a Ghost Run, which the whole purpose is to best you’re previous time. I’m very happy with my progress however the question still remains for me, “What is my goal?”. My plan right now is to run the 5/3 Riverbank Run coming up this Spring. Since I’m already running a 5K at each workout then perhaps working on my time is where I should be focusing my attention. Running Your First Marathon
While I’m not actually training for a marathon right now, as my first actual race is to be the Fifth Third River Bank Run 5K, I think this is good stuff to start thinking about. I am looking to do the Grand Rapids Half Marathon in the Fall and I will need to work on a lot of these points.
Working On A Slow Easy Recovery Run
This morning I worked hard to slow down and just enjoy the run. I did pretty well at making that happen. I was still faster then my training plan called for but only by about 30 sec/mile so in all it was a great morning! #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Give the gift of clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
Last Full Training Week Before The Big Day
Pretty much unheard of for me today ended up being an evening training run, and an #Endomondo one at that. I started off way better than the start of a typical morning run, but given I’ve had a whole day to get my body moving that sort of makes sense. It was still pretty warm and humid, though I really appreciated the occasional breeze. I can’t wait until the temps cool down more. It did get me thinking about what those in Africa have to deal with, just walking, to go for miles just to get a container of water. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne I did spend a lot of time thinking about my former camp co-worker Jon and his family….
