A Verse That Describes The Church In Kathirie Sierra Leone

“They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.” – 2 Corinthians 8:2 NLT

This morning at Daybreak this verse was one that was part of Pastor Wes’ message. As it was being read I instantly began remembering my experience at the Sunday morning service in Kathirie. As I watched the church members give the morning offerings, giving not only to the general offering but also to a building fund and missions, I could only think about the amazing work God was doing in the village.

    (Exodus 3:1-5) So God used a burning bush to get Moses attention. What does He use today to get our attention. I’m reminded of something a pastor said recently, “can we hear God’s whisper in this loud world?”, can we? The world that we live in is definitely busier and louder than in Biblical times.     Dusting Off The Blog in The Corner

    I’m going to keep this a little short as I’m actually typing this all out on my phone. I decided to try to consolidate and at the same time bring my old blog up-to-date and back into the picture. I haven’t really taken the time to blog in years. Going to perhaps pick things up again, while at the same time tie in my Twitter and facebook. We’ll see how it goes, not making any commitment, plus I can only type so long on my phone before nmy hands get tired. More to come later, hopefully.

    Putting Wood On The Fire

    Put more wood into the fire by accompanying your partner to his/her favourite place. – Day 1, Refresh Your Marriage In 31 Days I can definitely see that the busyness of life makes it more challenging to keep the “wood fires burning” of marriage. Marriage takes work and especially intentional action to keep plain selfishness at bay. If we would keep our focus on serving in our marriage then love would be more readily felt. I need to plan to be intentional about this each day.

    I haven’t posted on here for so long I’m sure no one is following me anymore. It’s crazy to think that there was a time when I was posting like everyday, sometimes twice. Things are of course different now. I think the thing is that when I was posting before it was all about what was going on in my life. Now my life is not just me but my wife also. I think if I put myself out here, I’m taking her along with me, and I don’t want that. The other problem seems to be finding the time. There are just a lot more important things, like my wife, than blogging. I do try to post little updates on my Facebook or Twitter,…
