Throughout our lives we experience highs and lows. It’s during the low points that it’s easy to focus on the negative and forget about all the positive things we have or have experienced. So today is the 2nd day since completing the marathon, and unfortunately I find myself in more of a discouraged state than in celebration of my accomplishment. There are many things going through my head, many thoughts that cause me to be more disappointed with marathon Sunday. Nothing played out like I had hoped. I ended up coming in behind most of all the other marathon runners from our group despite leading the pack throughout training. I didn’t get to cross the finish line with my running partner, or my kids. I ended up walking most of the last 4.5 miles. I ended up going to the medical aid tent after crossing the finish line. I have no photo of me crossing the finish line….
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? – Romans 8:31 NLT This verse should give us the confidence to take on anything. Of course anything that is part of God’s plan and not our own doing. We need to hold on to this truth when we have those bad days where we wonder if it can get any worse or we face seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
OK, so as I’m preparing this week for my big move to MI I’m thinking what I could share with you all about some reasons why I’m excited about this move. So here we go, let’s see if I can come up with 10. 1. More time I can spend with the most amzing woman I know! 😉 2. Many trips to a real beach! (with Vanessa of course!) 3. Taking dancing lessons (with an actual woman too!) 4. Living somewhere where there is more to do than hang out in the Pamida parking lot. Well, I didn’t get a post made last night. I just got a little tired to make the post. Also, there wasn’t much that went on Saturday. I got up around 9:30 and got around to getting my remaining leaves cleaned up and taken to the dump before the rain came. I made some bread in the bread machine for the first time. The crust got a little harder and thicker than I would have preferred but it was tasty. I mostly bummed around that day.
