It’s The Abominable Snowman!

Let’s just say it was a little cold outside. I still don’t understand why people, and businesses, and churches couldn’t have their sidewalks clear by now. For those that got them cleared you are a blessing to us runners. I made the mistake of using my CamelBak again. The line froze again at about mile 3-4. I need to figure out something better, maybe the best I can do is water bottles when it’s this cold and just conserve. I can say that until now it’s been pretty great weather for runners in the winter. I take days like this as just another way to prepare for anything come the Groundhog Day Marathon.

    A Brutal Winter Run

    Wow, that is all I can say about the weather this morning on my run. Between the freezing rain pelting me, the massive wind gusts, and the snow-covered sidewalks that reduced my traction to almost zero, let’s just say I felt like I ran 12 miles not just shy of 6. I laugh because today was supposed to be an easy run day, and with that pace you might think I took it slow but that wasn’t really what went down.     Picking Up The Pace On A Wednesday Training Run

    I had the opportunity to witness, first hand, the water situation in Sierra Leone, Africa. It is an honor that Hope Water Intl is working with World Hope Intl in a joint mission to bring clean water to Africa. I am proud to know that #WHI is not just sending Americans into Africa to help and leave, but rather they train and employ locals to carry out the mission. Whether they need drivers, administration, or well drillers, nearly everyone is a national. I didn’t get a chance to hear each of their stories on how they got to where they are today.     Praying For Rain And Wells In Sierra Leone

    As I felt the light rain coming down as I ran I couldn’t help but think of #SierraLeone and the long drive season they, putting a strain on water supplies. I especially thought of the village of #Ronkorhun and their struggles for water. I continue to pray for the rains needed to grow their crops and restore their water supplies. I also pray that Ronkorhun would see the miracle of a new drilled well in their village sooner than anyone could have expected. #HWI #HessLakeRun #GRMarathon #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Wells in Africa
