So as not to disappoint my fellow running mates, I got out there and got my Monday training run done complete with a frozen beard. Things were pretty good so long as I didn’t have to run into the wind. I picked my route so I could minimize running into the wind. I was pleasantly surprised by my overall average pace after finishing. I think Wednesday might be the most interesting final training run, we’ll see. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus

Today was a speed work day, and so it goes with those my mind was pretty much totally focused on my run and hitting the target paces. I did still have the worship music going so I was at least still able to connect with God that way. Even though it was a wet run it did help to keep me cool, especially on the intense intervals. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Donate to Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr Hudsonville, MI
Back at it after my camping vacation. I commend those that are able to stick with the training while on vacation. My love right now isn’t really conducive to running while on vacation much. It was nice to back out running having some worship and prayer time. I spent some time giving God thanks for walking with me as I worked to get healthy, which allows me to run for clean water. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water #WhyIRun I also spent some time giving Him thanks for the amazing wife He has blessed me with. In many ways my wife is the better half in our family. I’ve been blessed to have someone that can counter my failings when it comes to being a parent but also…
Back in the saddle with an “easy” 9 mile run. I’m still finding it hard to keep a consistent pace. I tried to keep it in the 10:14 min/mile pace but it’s hard for me to get in a rhythm at that pace. It felt good to be back out running again after the marathon. I enjoy the quiet time. I’m still trying to hit the $2000 mark for clean water. I’ve only got $350 more to go. I’m praying that my show of dedication to running inspires someone to partner with me. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Clean Water – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne
Our organization is so close to reaching our goal and being able to bring clean water to 21,250 people in Africa. I’m still $780 away from hitting my goal before the Grand Rapids Marathon on October 15th. I hope there are those that would be willing to partner with me to bring clean water to those that need it. While today was a recovery run pace the miles almost doubled from last week. With only 3 weeks until race day the miles will increase for a short time but then will start decreasing weekly up to race day. #HWI #Run4Watet #WhyIRun #GRGus Give to clean water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr
