Enjoying Sunlight And Worship Music On My Saturday Long Run

Being able to start my run later on a Saturday morning is a nice change from my early morning runs during the week. I actually get to enjoy some sunlight part way through my run. I still usually start when it’s dark so I still don the headlamp. Since today was a long “slow” run I just put on the worship music and let my body keep the pace it was comfortable doing, well for the most part.

Back In The Saddle On The Road To Recovery

I couldn’t do another day of just walking. I did my best to keep it a slow jog. I also continued to use the slower pace to have some good one-on-one time with God and pray for friends and family that I know need support for the things they are going through right now. As I continue to recover and work my way into a normal running routine again I need to keep working on where my focus is as I run. I’m thankful for how my recovery is going, and also thankful for the opportunity to see my running from a different perspective. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon

5 Wintery Miles For Clean Water

Even though it is now considered the “off season” for the West Michigan #HWI team, the need for clean water hasn’t been completely met. Thanks to the work of the team this past year many thousands more will have access to clean water, but the harsh reality is that there are still thousands more that will still not have access to clean water. This is another reason why I feel compelled to keep running, even through the winter months, to continue to bring awareness to the huge need that is still before us. I would love to see people step into this Christmas season with a heart to make a global and lifelong impact and give the gift of clean water. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Give…

A 5 Mile Training Run In The Face Of A Challenging World

As I ran this morning I couldn’t help but think about the impact that #COVID19 is having on our world and not just with those infected, having died, or those secluding themselves bin protection. There is the global economic impact that I fear will also impact giving to those that have been in need. When there is a huge need for support of those that have lost there jobs right around you it seems challenging to be asking for money to send overseas for wells. The world challenges of poverty and access to clean water didn’t go away when the virus hit, those needs are still very much there and now more needs have been added on top. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

    A Quick Wet Assessment Run

Double your impact, with our matching donor, and help bring clean water to even more in need. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon It was a little wet this morning, but it was just a short fitness assessment run. When you are going all out for 12 minutes you start break down the time into segments just to keep from getting overwhelmed. The rain made it a little more challenging to see but I managed it well enough. The rain was refreshing and a great way to keep cooled down while running.
