    Keeping The Trots At Bay

This morning the wheels pretty much fell off my 6.5 mile run. As you can see I really only got a little more than 4 miles in. I had to stop because I just couldn’t keep jostling things around and keep the trots from hitting me. I did manage to get another really slow 1.5 miles in after that but it was still rough. I’m not sure exactly what the cause was but I do know that I haven’t been exactly eating great the last few weeks. Hopefully this next week I can get back in my groove. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun

Day Before The Big Run, Grand Rapids Marathon 2018

Headed down to the Grand Rapids YMCA downtown and picked up my race packet and checked out the expo. Enjoyed chatting with some #HWI folks as well as some race organizers for other marathons that take place in the Spring. Who knows maybe another marathon besides the #GRMarathon will be in my future some day. I am signed up for the #RiverBankRun this next May, so looking forward to some winter training for that. I’m still looking to hit that $2000 mark for wells in Africa. I have about $750 to go. There’s still time to partner with me if you haven’t yet. #Run4Water #WhyIRun Donate to Water, to Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

First Long Run Of The New Year

I’m thankful for the nice weather this evening, and for making it back safely from Minnesota, to get my long run in tonight. It was a tough one doing it at night and all alone. You don’t realize how many miles a running partner gets you through without you even feeling it until you don’t have one on those long runs. I’m looking forward to getting back to a normal routine again. Not that I’m happy with just the status quo, but being back in a controlled environment where it’s easier to stick to the good habits and resist the bad ones. I’m looking forward to what the new year holds for me both in my running and every other area of my life. #HWI…

Breaking Out The Facemask For A Chilly Interval Run

With as cold and windy as it was the previous day, for a short 3+ mile run, today’s temperature and longer run definitely called for putting on the facemask. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Almost a couple of years ago now, I had the honor to travel to Sierra Leone Africa, and witness first hand the impact that clean water has. If you ever have the opportunity to take a trip like that it’s one you can’t pass up. In some ways, unless you’ve actually been there first hand to experience it, it can be very hard to really understand what it means, and the life change that occurs, from access to clean water. Can you imagine the possibilities of a world where everyone has access…
