Unusual Running For A Wednesday
I waivered on whether to go out and run or break out the treadmill this morning. For me I figure if I’ve ran part of a marathon in a cold downpouring rain I can handle a 50 degree sprinkle for a free miles. In general I will always opt for the outdoors versus the treadmill. Staying On Track With My Training Runs

Sticking With The Pacers
I wanted to make sure I hit my target based on how my training went. I decided before the race even started that I was going to stick with the pacers. That plan paid off. Even though my target pace was supposed to be 8:42 min/mi my choices for pacers was 8:30 or 9:00 and so I decided to stick myself in between, but really I just stuck with the 8:30 pacers the whole way, mostly. After hitting mile 10 on Butterworth Street there was a long stretch that was all downhill. I took advantage of that hill and passed the 8:40 pacers. Day Before The Big Run, Grand Rapids Marathon 2018
Headed down to the Grand Rapids YMCA downtown and picked up my race packet and checked out the expo. Enjoyed chatting with some #HWI folks as well as some race organizers for other marathons that take place in the Spring. Who knows maybe another marathon besides the #GRMarathon will be in my future some day. I am signed up for the #RiverBankRun this next May, so looking forward to some winter training for that. I’m still looking to hit that $2000 mark for wells in Africa. I have about $750 to go. We Don’t Need to Fear With Jesus at Our Side

Fun Day With The Kids And Family
We had a fun day with the kids starting off with a birdhouse building project at Home Depot. The kids didn’t want to go but in the end they had a lot of fun. On our way home from birdhouse building we stopped to checkout the animals at PetSmart. The kida of course wanted to get more pets but we aren’t ready to go down that road just yet. We already have a cat that they have a hard time with. The afternoon was filled with festivities celebrating Jacob’s Birthday. He was so happy to have family come adn especially his school friend. Us adults enjoyed some adult conversations for a change as well. Pokemon was the highlight of Jacob’s party.
