Breaking Out The Facemask For A Chilly Interval Run

With as cold and windy as it was the previous day, for a short 3+ mile run, today’s temperature and longer run definitely called for putting on the facemask.

Almost a couple of years ago now, I had the honor to travel to Sierra Leone Africa, and witness first hand the impact that clean water has. If you ever have the opportunity to take a trip like that it’s one you can’t pass up. In some ways, unless you’ve actually been there first hand to experience it, it can be very hard to really understand what it means, and the life change that occurs, from access to clean water. Can you imagine the possibilities of a world where everyone has access to clean water? That is a world I long to see.

Impact our world, and generations to come with clean water. Give today! https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

    3rd 5K, Tough Morning…Inclines

This morning felt like a pretty big challenge. It being my 3rd 5K this week I just felt off from the start. After looking at my distance climbed I think I understand why today felt like so much of a struggle, I had about 90 feet of incline then my last 2 5Ks. Looks like the machine decided to take things up a notch today. I’m not unhappy with my pace. It just feels like I took a step back from the start of the week. I think my body is still recovering from lack of sleep since I was up way late the night before last. I hope it’ll work to make it to a HWP group run soon. Providing More Than Just Clean Water

I’m getting closer to my goal, only $255 to go. Partner with me today to bring clean water to another 14 people. https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon Putting in a well in a village in Africa is not about just dropping a handout to people and then moving on. A well is the start of helping a village help themselves. The responsibility of the well, and the well-being of the village, is on a team of leaders from the village. A real example of the saying, “Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and feed him for a lifetime.” It was a pretty good recovery run today. I was happy to have such a good pace after…

I Might Need To Adjust My Half Marathon Training

So yesterday I happened to PR for a half marathon. The “problem” is that it was only a half marathon training run for a half I’m doing in July. My Endomondo training plan has my goal set for a 9:22min/mi pace come race day. Well I ended up blowing that time out of the water by finishing a training run half marathon with an 8:49min/mi pace. So I think my current goal is too conservative. It probably doesn’t help that I continually keep pushing myself beyond the training plan paces. I have a hard time managing my pace.

    A Hard Journey For Water

For many in Africa the journey to gather water is a treacherous one. They may not even end up gathering clean water. The goal of #HWI is to provide sustainable and accessable clean water. #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Join us in bringing clean water to Africa: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr It was a wet and rainy run this morning, but I got it done. Next time it think I’ll be sure to wear my visor to keep the rain off of my glasses.
