Kicking Off The Week Strong
My training plan slowed my pace down this week. I suspect since my last Thursday evaluation run involved some pretty icy sidewalks that it affected the outcome of my training plan. I felt really good even after taking this past Saturday off. It’s definitely been harder staying with it since I’m pretty disconnected from my Hope Water Team these days. I wanted to make sure I hit my target based on how my training went. I decided before the race even started that I was going to stick with the pacers. That plan paid off. Even though my target pace was supposed to be 8:42 min/mi my choices for pacers was 8:30 or 9:00 and so I decided to stick myself in between, but really I just stuck with the 8:30 pacers the whole way, mostly. After hitting mile 10 on Butterworth Street there was a long stretch that was all downhill. I took advantage of that hill and passed the 8:40 pacers. I maintained that position probably up to around mile 14 which is when the mental part of my run had to kick…Back In The High [Intensity] Life Again
After a brief hiatus on Tuesday, no thanks to a cold and a bad nights rest, I was back out for my early morning run. I really had my butt kicked with a high intensity interval run. I think my only slight advantage was have a previous week of out of the park fast runs. I could sure tell that I had missed a day of running though. Regardless of how tough it might have been it still felt good to be back out running. On Tuesday when I didn’t get out for my run the whole day seemed off. I’m not sure how I’m going to get my Saturday run in with being out of town in a trip to Chicago. We’ll see. #HWI…Just Another 11 Mile Saturday Run For Clean Water
In the U.S. we have access to many things that we end up just taking for granted. And it’s not a matter of doing something wrong it’s just what we are used to. When a village receives a well it is a big celebration of thankfulness. We had a fun day as a family at the Air Zoo. We’d never been there but this month there was a reciprocity deal with the Grand Rapids Public Museum. I love the reciprocity deals you get with memberships. Nice to try some new things. #FamilyOuting #GRPM #AirZoo
