Starting Another Week With An Early Morning 3 Miles

A little bit earlier run today,and I didn’t manage any PRs, but things felt pretty good nonetheless. When it comes down to it if you think about one of your worst days I don’t think it can even compare to the days that many in Africa face without clean water. I am more than willing to endure some discomfort, and tough days, if it means making water available to a village in Africa. Something that can mean the difference between life and death.

    As I ran another 5 miles this morning I couldn’t help but think about the added struggle #COVID19 is now causing in Sierra Leone. I don’t think anyone complaining about the U.S. hardships has even thought about the fact that we still have it pretty good compared to places like Sierra Leone.     Still Running, Starting A New Plan

    I have still been running but just haven’t taken the time to post about them. I ran 13.1 miles last Saturday and around 7 Miles on Tuesday, I did take a break Monday in order to get some extra sleep after a late night. This morning I had another interval training run this morning that kicked my but, however I still ended with more miles then estimated so I it was not all bad. I had actually started a new training plan since my 15K at the River Bank Run isn’t happen. No sense in building up my distance when there isn’t actually a race to run. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

    10 More Miles And 2 Years Ago

    It was great weather for a 10 miles run this morning. As I finished things up I was reminded that just 2 years ago I was blessed to be hanging out with a bunch of children in Sierra Leone. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #RiverBankRun I had hoped to return there last year but things didn’t work out. Traveling to Sierra Leone and seeing first hand the hardship of the lack of clean water, as well as the blessings a village experiences when a well is put in, is something that I will never forget.     The Defining Moment For Why I Run

    My run this morning consisted of a combo of an #Endomondo easy and a #HWI hard Tuesday run. Though many might see me as not knowing the meaning of an easy run, ha. I spent a lot of time reflecting on my time in Sierra Leone and the defining moment that occurred and encapsulates why I run. How do you process, and what action do you take when a woman is so desperate for water that she wants you to take her child away so that they have a chance to survive?     Setting up a Web Server Using Docker on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Ampere arm64 Always Free Instance

    After successfully migrating from a #DigitalOcean Droplet for my #Mastodon instance I decided to take advantage of the remaining resources still available on #OracleCloud to migrate my web hosting as well. I’m going to be taking a different approach, basically because of the #arm64 setup, and using #Docker for running most of my hosting setup. This post serves as an on-going guide to that setup.
