The Half Marathon is Close, Tackling a Snowy Saturday Run

It was a tough cold, windy, snowy, slippery morning for a “long” run but I got it done. No matter how a run goes I don’t think I can ever think of a time where when I was done I thought to myself I wish I wouldn’t have gone in that run. It’s only the times when I’ve skipped a run that I’ve though I wish I would have gone on that run.

    Last Full Training Week Before The Big Day

    Pretty much unheard of for me today ended up being an evening training run, and an #Endomondo one at that. I started off way better than the start of a typical morning run, but given I’ve had a whole day to get my body moving that sort of makes sense. It was still pretty warm and humid, though I really appreciated the occasional breeze. I can’t wait until the temps cool down more.     Knocking Out Another Monday Training Run

    I really enjoy being able to just turn on the workout worship music and just run while having one-on-one time, just me and God. This morning the Rusch family was on my mind and is in my prayers. I spent 10 years working at a Christian camp and was blessed to work with some many amazing people serving and ministering to others. I am totally blown away when I hear of the trials many of them end up going through.     What Does It Mean When A Pandemic Hits A Country Already In Need

    As I ran another 5 miles this morning I couldn’t help but think about the added struggle #COVID19 is now causing in Sierra Leone. I don’t think anyone complaining about the U.S. hardships has even thought about the fact that we still have it pretty good compared to places like Sierra Leone. With all of our indoor plumbing we don’t have to think about travelling 2 miles to a crowded well to gather water. A country like Sierra Leone is between a rock and a hard place when any epidemic hits. How can anyone survive a stay-at-home order if they don’t have water at home for both drinking and sanitation.     Running To The Worship Beat

    This week starts a switch up of my Monday and Tuesday running schedule. All I can say is that the Spirit was moving while I listened to the worship music. My run was pretty much kicked onto high gear but the whole time the music was speaking to right where I’m at these days.     Beginning The Next Marathon Training

    This morning officially started my next marathon training. As a ran I couldn’t help but think about the #HWI team and all the new people that may have a lot to overcome this year as they prepare for their first half or full marathon. Also those that have already sustained an injury this year and are on the mend.
