A Little Later Thursday 3 Mile Run

Getting in my 3 miles before we head out for another week of camping. Even though I got out later than normal it was still surprisingly not too hot. Next few runs will be in the Wisconsin Dells.

Cutting My Long Run Short, And A Couple Of Injuries Along The Way

Give the gift of clean water, donate today! https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #Injury Today was an early morning to get my long run in before family stuff. I hit the road around 4am and things were going good, up until between mile 7 & 8 when I tried getting off the road for an oncoming car and ran into some sort of poll tearing my watch of my arm and scraping my wrist. I thought the rest of the run would be fine after that. However, I got to about 14 miles and was passing by some construction and I totally didn’t see the missing sidewalk and bit the dust something terrible, going down hard. My knees where all banged up and bleeding. I…

Kicking Off A New Training Plan

After still not quite getting much in for running the last two weeks I decided to just start a new training plan. For me, I need the motivation of a plan. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a matter of if I don’t have a plan I won’t run, it does make it harder, but it really comes down to just not wanting to have to figure what I’m going to run every morning. Giving Thanks Even Through The Tough Times

Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! No matter what valleys we end up in God is there and we can find some blessings in our lives. I’m glad to be reminded today that, despite feeling like everything is falling apart around me, God is still there and He has blessed me with a lot.

    Christmas Eve 10K+ Training Run

Enjoyed a run with some light snow falling. One challenge was that when I started things were clear, with no snow in the forecast, but a couple miles into the run the snow started and I noticed many slick spots on the sidewalk. And wouldn’t you know I had decided not to wear my cleats. I surprisingly still finished with a pretty solid average pace. I haven’t really ran in much for significant weather yet this winter. We’ll see what Minnesota brings to my runs next week while visiting family. I get a lot of comments about not “taking a break” from running. And I don’t discount the concern people may have that I’m pushing myself towards injury. The reality of it though is that…
