A Nice Cool Morning For A 4 Mile Training Run

It was a very nice cool morning to start off the week. I was even able to come in under a 10 minute/mile pace without feeling like I was struggling. Looking forward to the week ahead.

    Monday Morning Recovery Run

What started out being a pretty easy going run turned out to be much faster than I had expected. I was checking my heart rate the whole time and only once did it rise just a hair past 150. My pace just ended up being what it was based on how I ended up doing with my heart rate. What’s encouraging to me is to see what appears to be my heart health getting better. I feel God has definitely blessed me through my running. Honestly, one of the big helpers with my runs is listening to a worship workout album. There are moments when I am so focused on the song that I forget about the running. I did take some time this morning…

Getting The Saturday Long Run Done

We all have those off days, for me today was one of those. The second half of my run was more challenging than last week. Given I PR’d for a half marathon I was surprised by today. I really can’t complain, I was supposed to be running a 9:40 min/mi pace. So in reality I was pushing when I shouldn’t have been. Some times I think about giving up the focus on pace and even getting faster and just go out and enjoy the run for what it is. I’m sure at some point I’ll get there, I’m just not sure if I’m ready to be at that place yet. When you are running for almost 2 hours you have a lot of time to…

    Challenging Road To Water

For many even the road to a dirty water source is a treacherous one. A well placed well brings both clean water, and safety, to a village in Africa. I’m still looking for some additional partners to commit to the final $255 of my goal. Will you be that partner? https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon In the village of Ronkorhun they must travel over a rickety bridge, during the rainy season when the creek is flowing, to get to a hole in the ground where they collect their water. Can you imagine risking your safety to get water that can make you sick? That’s the situation many of those in Afeica are in. This morning was another speed work morning. On top of that I…
