Knocking Out A Race Pace Run With Ryan

Was happy to have Ryan, a running partner, join me today for a run. Got to change things up a bit on a new route as well. Runs are always more enjoyable with others.

I enjoyed some great conversation with Justin Dykstra. I could sure tell the difference between having someone to run with versus not when I finished the last 4 miles on my own.     Getting It Done, 17 Mile Marathon Training Run

    Had some nice early morning weather for my 17 miles. I was so grateful to have the #HWI water stations out by the time I got through about half of my run. It was nice to not have to figure out how to drop water somewhere. It was a tougher run going it alone. I definitely appreciate being able to run with the group and visit while running. It takes your mind off of the run and helps to keep you motivated. There were people out on the trails by the 2nd half of my run so it was nice to have people to greet and get some encouraging words at times. #GRMarathon #Run4Water

    Extended Family Holiday Weekend

    Had a great extended weekend with the family. Loved having the extra day and enjoyed many fun activities. It started Friday night with my wife and I renting and watching The Shack. Saturday was a busy day starting off with the HWI group run followed by getting supplies and materials to build a deck out back. On Sunday we enjoyed a great Sunday message as a campfire with the family, mother in-law, and father in-law. Monday we had a great morning at the Jenison Memorial Day Parade with the kids. Mom (i.e. Vanessa) was in the parade for the Saturday Slip & Slide so Dad (i.e. me) was in charge of getting the kids a good spot for candy collection. 😉 We wrapped up the rest…

    Just A Short Tuesday Run

    It was nice to sleep in a little before doing the short run, especially given my #Endomondo training plan has me on a 5 run per week schedule. The only problem with these short runs is that I get a little too caught up in my speed. I love having the worship workout music pumping me up to full speed. It was pretty warm out already at 5am. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon
