Full Days…

So I didn’t really get off to a good start this morning. Basically my whole sleeping schedule has been thrown off. Tomorrow I will be forcing myself to get up when the alarm goes off. The day turned out pretty excellent however. The Bible study I had with a couple of youth guys really revealed a wrong attitude I had about the weekend coming up. I find it can be frustrating to see people treat others with such disrespect, especially when we are talking about Christians. I guess it is easy to hold Christians up to a higher standard. This is right and wrong. While we should expect Christian to be doing what’s right in the eyes of the Lord, we also need to show them the same level of grace that we have through Christ. Without God’s grace where would any of us be. This is back to the hexagon in the Life Shapes, “forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us”, it can be so easy to forget this, shame on us (on me).

Youth praise team practice went really well tonight. I think I’ve got a plan that is going to work to do music in the fellowship hall, we’ll see. We’ll be taking a break next week, then have a practice of Christmas music to lead for the Christmas party.

Chad, called me today. I felt bad that I was right at the beginning of the Bible study and couldn’t really talk. Then there’s youth group tomorrow, game night on Thursday, and head down to Le Sueur for the Cantata on Friday for the weekend. It never fails, Decemeber is always the busy month. The most important thing I want to be getting done before Christmas is Chad & Laura’s wedding DVD.

I’ve kind of been surprise, and humbled, by the number of comments I’ve received on my writting. I guess when you are a social introvert by nature, yet a fairly creative individual that the thoughts in your head have to come out in some form. My form has been my blogging. I used to write a lot longer ago, like high school & elementary school. When the computer was put in my hands I kind of lost sight of the writting. I haven’t done much for writting since 10th grade when I completed a year of college writting & english. Even though I may not have the deepest vocabulary (thx Anders :-P) it would seem that my writing is fairly easy for people to read. Now the length of my posts isn’t perhaps the easiest to take in.

Well, once again my pillow is calling (as I listen to “Who Am I” by Casting Crowns). Valete!

    Hardships…Who’s to Blame?

    (Exodus 5:1-23) Initially it would seem that Moses and Aaron weren’t helping matters each time they talked to Pharaoh. The Isrealites even blamed them for making things harder for them. How did Moses and Aaron take that? Well we know that at least Moses in turn decided to blame God for what was happening to the Isrealites. It might seem that both the Isrealites and/or Moses were correct in placing blame, however they were wrong as God had a plan for it all.     Life Without Internet…Thursday

    Thursday was an ok day at work. I really didn’t feel like I was able to keep on task as well as I would have liked. I was able to make some progress on the CLB site, integrating the forums into the homepage. I also got to talking with Todd about the whole blogging thing. He had setup himself with a Blogger.com blog. I offered to host a WordPress blog for him, then we got on the sunject of creating a CLB Blog site. Not sure how much of a demand there might be for this. I think it might be cool if Synod Staff & Pastors had blogs through the CLB. I didn’t get out of work till like 6. I decided to take…

  • Wow, Shortest Post Ever…

    Ok, so what a day. I wish I had the time to write all that I wanted, but off to bed I go, already late. Quick recap, woke up with a terrible cold (blah), great day at work, wonderful time at praise team practice (this is going to be a great group of youth to work with, we might even get good enough to lead on a Sunday), and well no new news from Apple.   • Time To Get Serious: Encountering a Holy God

    Psalm 11:4-7 – The scripture for today talks about God’s Holiness and our sinfulness. I think it becomes so easy, and wrongfully so, for Christians to begin to rank sin. The reality of it is that in God’s eyes there is no one that is more sinful than another. I know we can think that as Christian were better, and not nescesarily boasting in that, but we think those that maybe aren’t Christians are so much worse than we are. Boy are we deceived. God is Holy and perfect and can’t stand the hint of sin. As Christians the difference for us, as compared to someone that isn’t a Christian, is that we have Christ standing in place for us.   • Busy Times, Time is Short

    So these days have been busier than ever. It’s been LB Convention time this week, and I’ve been putting in some full days for that. Tomorrow after work I head down to the Twin Cities for the night, and in the morninig begin my trip out to Michigan. Every day, and every week, I see my time hear coming closer to an end. I’m constantly torn between feelings of excitement for what God has to come, and sadness when thinking of all the people that I’ll be leaving behind. I don’t know what God has in store for me.   • Time To Get Serious: A Tough Subject

    Nahum 1:2-6, a God of wrath. The fact that God cannot stand sin, and actually dishes out His wrath because of it, brings a clearer picture of our need for the forgiveness we have through Christ. I think too often we only talk about the love of God, and we don’t see His love in it’s context. God’s love comes to use through Christ. I think we can sometimes easily forget that there really is one single condition of God’s love, that is comes through Christ.

  1. All Christians are…the only difference between nonbelievers and believers is WE (the believers) are sinners saved by grace. We still mess up and we still reveal that we are human. Thats the only difference, but God does call us to a higher standard.
