I’m hopeful that today’s run is a sign that my Saturday long run will go better this week. No matter whether we have a “bad” day or a good one, just getting out there and putting in some miles shows our commitment to the cause. Ultimately, more wells in Africa is the real goal regardless of how a training run goes. I haven’t seen any donations come in for my $1000 goal yet but I’m hopeful that someone will be inspired and moved to join with me every time I share.Starting Off The Week With A Long Wet Training Run
Despite the rain and chill, caused by a little breeze, it was decent enough to get out for a longer run. The weather was still a big motivator to keep going, which unfortunately caused my pace to be faster than what the training plan called for, but oh well. #Endomondo I enjoyed a run full of #worship music, but I felt so overwhelmed by the needs of friends and family, physically; emotionally; and spiritually, that it was very hard to focus and being very specific in my prayers. Perhaps this morning was supposed to be more about worship then bringing the never-ending mound of needs to Him. I’m still hoping to continue to raise money for more wells. Even though for many of us this is another year of raising money, the need for more wells has not diminished. Can you imagine the life change if we could accomplish sustainable wells across all of Africa? The team won’t be stopping putting those miles in anytime soon.A 5 Mile Training Run In The Face Of A Challenging World
As I ran this morning I couldn’t help but think about the impact that #COVID19 is having on our world and not just with those infected, having died, or those secluding themselves bin protection. There is the global economic impact that I fear will also impact giving to those that have been in need. When there is a huge need for support of those that have lost there jobs right around you it seems challenging to be asking for money to send overseas for wells. The world challenges of poverty and access to clean water didn’t go away when the virus hit, those needs are still very much there and now more needs have been added on top. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun
