Knocking Out The Crispy Tuesday Run

It was a crisp morning so starting out I was a tad chilly but after getting in about a mile a warmed up. That’s one of the upsides of winter running, there is a lot of motivation to keep running. When you slow down you can get cold pretty quickly. On the flip side, summer runs are challenging to try and cool down without just having to stop. Winter running has it’s challenges of course. I can recall a time when I experienced a pretty terrible winter run, all due to not being properly prepared. It was a couple of years ago and I was doing around an 8 mile run. I had to cut things short because I was freezing cold. That was not…

    Another 5K For Clean Water

Pushed this morning’s training run to a 5K distance, and bumped up the intensity a bit. Just like training for a marathon is not easy or simple, so it is with putting in a well. When I had a chance to learn about the process of putting in a well I was amazed at the amount of work that is done before even putting a drill in the ground. There are villages filled with children all over Africa that need our support in bring them hope for the future through a life sustaining well. Will you be a part of the solution to a…
  • Still Running for Clean Water

Even though the official running season for the West Michigan chapter of Hope Water has come to a close, the need for clean water hasn’t. An even more, someone has put up a $20,000 match from now until the Disney marathon the start of January. Right now all donations can have double the impact. What better time to give hope during this Christmas season. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #RiverBankRun Double your Christmas giving today: https://timn.me/2020HWI

Striving For Better But Not Losing Sight Of The Purpose

When it comes down to it I have a strange definition of “easy run”. The reality of it is that I just have this drive to always do better, to try harder. I know perfectly well that I won’t be winning any races in the foreseeable future, but like in most things I do I know I can always do better. The key piece that I can’t, we all can’t, forget is that doing better doesn’t change how much God loves us. Our worst is no different than our best in God’s eyes. Ultimately, God only cares about where our heart is at, and if we are in a relationship with him. I run not just to get better at running, but because I know…
