My Beautiful Birthday Girl

Birthday Girl (Vanessa)On Saturday I had the pleasure to take my very special girl, Vanessa, out for a dinner cruise on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset, dinner, and a little dancing. I enjoyed every moment celebrating the day with Vanessa. I don’t know if I can really express how much I care for her. I can honestly say that I don’t think I can imagine a life without her. I’m always in awe at how great God is to have brought us together. A year ago I never would have thought I’d be living in Michigan and have such an amazing woman in my life.

Life has been a little out of the ordinary lately. I ran sound again this week for Splash, it was a little crazy once again. Things should settle down eventually once everyone gets in tune with everything that needs to happen. Hopefully the next couple months will start to show some normalcy.

I’ve been kind of struggling with the whole podcast thing lately. I’m finding it hard to have the excitement to get things going. I think in part with so many other things going on the podcast seems like just one more thing to tackle. Perhaps there was a time for that podcast and now it’s over. To begin with my hope for the podcast was to included others besides myself. I’ve always gotten some very good feedback from those that have listened to my podcast. We’ll have to see what God has in store next for my podcast.

Well, I know that this was a very short update. I’m still working on trying to get back into some regular updates. I’d like to get myself back to posting a little of my thoughts each day. I think I’ve perhaps been a little more apprehensive because of perhaps the fear of saying something that would get misinterpreted by people around here that don’t know me very well. It’s kind of strange to feel that way. I used to feel so free with my thoughts. I wish that I could have that freedom again.

I’ll need to be going for now. Until the next post.

BTW, I think I might have finally found a base template that I like. I’m still feeling the need for some heavy customization though. I’m missing some of the little features I had before. Although, I do have to say that things are a bit less cluttered and out-of-hand. We’ll have to see what features I actually bring back.

Apple’s Makin Me Angry, Help Comes to the Rescue!

Ok, so I’ve been a little frustrated with the new iTunes. I’ve actually reverted back to the previous version. It took some hunting to actually find the old installer. I decided to help others out who also wanted to go back to 4.9 and I posted the instructions that worked for me along with a link to the file I’ve got hosted on my website. Well the powers that be overseeing the Apple discussions sent me a notification that my post had been removed. Then I reposted and it was quitely removed without any notification. What irritates me is that there was no clear reason why it was removed. Well I posted a third time and didn’t include the link to my download site. Not…

    Camping Trip…Sa-weat!

What a weekend! I have to say that this weekend was the most fun and restful trip I’ve had in a long time. From the car-ride on Friday, to the trip back, the weekend was filled with amazing fellowship and much needed rest. On Friday Laura got to my house after work and we headed to the campground, St Croix State Park, to meet up with Chad. Chad had a conference in the area, so he was able to get to the campsite and setup camp before we got there. I had a great opportunity to talk with Laura and get to know her better during the car-ride. We arrived at about almost 9pm. Chad had everything up and going, including a campfire. We sat…

    The Call to Being Generous

If we consider how generous God was to give His son to die for us, his call for us to be generous in our giving pales in comparison. I’ve heard it said, by Robert Morris I believe, that we can’t out give God. I’m always challenged in the area of generosity, with even my time and care for others not just my finances. I am blessed to have a wife that has a generous heart to help challenge me and counter my weakness in this area.
  • I’m Bad With Relationships…

I just can’t seem to understand why I’m so bad with keeping good relationships. Is it so hard to just pickup the phone? I can only figure that I’ve been so used to have so much time on my own that when I’m not with Vanessa I just feel like doing my own thing. At the same time and can’t wait for the next time to spend with Vanessa. I can’t wait for our trip to MN to see so many that I haven’t seen for so long. At times I feel like I’m constantly torn between the relationships that I’ve seem to have left behind and trying to start new relationships here. I’ve never been very good with the whole thing of keeping in…

    Have I Forgotten?

I know that morning will come too soon, I’ve got to be to work by 5am, but once again I find myself searching. I love how God is always tugging at me and wanting to stretch, and most of all asking me to continue on the path towards Him. Something that has been pulling at me for the past month is my concern that I’ve began living my life for myself. I struggle with Paul’s warning against getting married, and I can see already how my life is about to change. I will no longer have the freedom I once did to serve God and think of nothing else. I’m getting married in a little over 2 weeks and I will have someone in my…

  1. I like your layout… Glad you’re having a good time out there; miss you though. I’m not having as good a time here with you gone. There’s no one to play Settlers with around here; we’ll have to try to line up some time when you, Robbie, and I can play. Though it might be difficult; Robbie and I are quite busy with school.

  2. Hey… great new design! I’m glad you and Venessa had such a great time, I hope you have a good rest of the weekend. I’ll talk to you later okay? prayin for ya
