Yes, It’s Another Run, But There is Snow

I know that I post a lot of runs, I took a break from sharing that aspect of my life for a long time. However, as my running has gotten harder I decided that sharing my runs would do a few things. It would help to keep me accountable to get out there and get a run in, maybe encourage someone else that thinks they can’t, and ultimately keep awareness that part of the reason I run is to continue to help bring water to Africa.

If you are inclined to partner with me to bring more water to Africa consider a donation.

    Last Run Before My Surgery

When I got up this morning to thunder, lightning, and down pouring rain, I decided to wait until this evening to get my last run in before my surgery. As it normally goes, running in the evening is always harder for me. I can usually feel my supper, or what I’ve been eating that day, and it usually just doesn’t feel great. Tonight was no exception. I had intended on running 12 miles but only made it 10, and my pace slowed down considerably over the last 5 miles. It didn’t help matters either that I decided to break in my new shoes in a 12 mile run. I wouldn’t recommend that. I could definitely feel my shoes and the odd places that felt sore….

Cutting My Long Run Short, And A Couple Of Injuries Along The Way

Give the gift of clean water, donate today! https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRMarathon #Injury Today was an early morning to get my long run in before family stuff. I hit the road around 4am and things were going good, up until between mile 7 & 8 when I tried getting off the road for an oncoming car and ran into some sort of poll tearing my watch of my arm and scraping my wrist. I thought the rest of the run would be fine after that. However, I got to about 14 miles and was passing by some construction and I totally didn’t see the missing sidewalk and bit the dust something terrible, going down hard. My knees where all banged up and bleeding. I…

    Tackling A Winter Interval Run

Trying to do interval training runs in the cold winter months can be challenging. Even with the right gear which I highly recommend, you have to be careful so you don’t end up taking a dive. Snow and ice can make speed a definite challenge when attempting faster interval runs. When it comes to winter running some dates you just need go with the flow. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Help With Clean Water: https://timn.me/2Kx7NEr

I Might Need To Adjust My Half Marathon Training

So yesterday I happened to PR for a half marathon. The “problem” is that it was only a half marathon training run for a half I’m doing in July. My Endomondo training plan has my goal set for a 9:22min/mi pace come race day. Well I ended up blowing that time out of the water by finishing a training run half marathon with an 8:49min/mi pace. So I think my current goal is too conservative. It probably doesn’t help that I continually keep pushing myself beyond the training plan paces. I have a hard time managing my pace.

Giving Thanks Even Through The Tough Times

Give thanks to the Lord , for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. – 1 Chronicles 16:34 NLT There are days, sometimes even seasons, in our lives that are tough, even painful, and yet we still need to give thanks to God. No matter what valleys we end up in God is there and we can find some blessings in our lives. I’m glad to be reminded today that, despite feeling like everything is falling apart around me, God is still there and He has blessed me with a lot.
