God’s Working

tree-beach-golden-112702-oIn an effort to trying posting on a regular basis, here goes for the year. 🙂

Recently over the course of a few weeks I applied for a job, got 2 intrviews and was offered a job. The job, in-and-of itself, I would have loved, however it would have come at a great financial cost to my family, which would have made it much harder to either adopt again or think about buying a new house. I think what was most important that came out of the whole situation was the realization that neither me or my family has any real goals or plans for our lives. God really brought that to light, and really made it apparent that without that sort of plan in mind there is no way to be able to easily make thses kinds of life impacting decisions. I did seek some wise council through the process, which was good, but I still had a hard time making a decision withouth any real plans to bounce it up against.

In the end I chose not to take the opportunity, if only for the fact that I realized a couple of things. As a family Vanessa and I need to write down some goals, and using technology for ministry really has always been a passion of mine. That second part really has me thinking harder about what it means to find a new job. I’m not sure if this is God’s way of leading me back into full-time ministry or not. I do know this, I have a lot of prayer and time with God ahead of me to figure things out. I can say this, I believe God has more in store for me than what I’m doing right now.

    Change Me…Sanctus Real

Did I change your mind, with what I said last night? Did I break your heart, by straying so far? From what you have in mind, for my life? Would you change me, from who I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I know I’m nothing without you. Did my words betray, the patience I once claimed? Can’t you see it in my face? I need your grace. Would you change me, from who I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I know I’m nothing without you. Would you save me, from the way I’ve been lately? ‘Cause I can’t see living without you. Would you speak to me? Show me what I need.
  • Blog Design Changes…

So I have done some design changes on my blog. I’ve customized it more away from the canned templated I was using. I’m not using an original panoramic photo for my header. I’ve also got the new photo gallery integrated a bit better. I’ve also added the ability to use avatars, that would be little pictures to represent yourself. I’ve even signed up for and allow the use of gravatars. Well, of course, busy-busy it has been. Not much of my life has been posted as of late. Maybe not today but hopefully tomorrow I’ll get a good long post in. On the the devos…
  • “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

(Matthew 9:37) Why does it seem that the spiritual needs of people in this world vastly out-weigh the human resources? Why does it seem as though the Christian community (church global) continue to fail in it’s ministry to the world we live in? Where is our faith, is it so small that it has rendered our witness useless? Am I the only one out here that has his hearting breaking every time I see the brokenness of this world? How do we truely make a global impact for Christ in this world? God, give me Your guidance and wisdom, help me to be the kind of Christian You call us to be. Keep my eyes open, and give me the courage to share Your message…

    Something to Ponder…

Devotions this morning says, as Christians, we should not be thinking “I can’t”, at least in following God’s direction. This is so very true, Jesus pointed out what little faith we have, and how little faith it takes to even move a mountain. I think of the times I have thought, “I just can’t do this”, because of circumstances in my life. Shame on me if I’m failing to follow God’s leading. This lead into a four week study on marriage & family. It mentions that a woman ought not to even think about getting involved with a man that isn’t interested in working & obeying God. “Manhood is more than the ability to wear pants. It’s the ability to take devine truth and make…

We Need To Persevere In All Areas Of Our Lives

So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. – Hebrews 10:35‭-‬36 NLT There is a lot of perseverance that I need these days. Between work, our new house moving, serving at Daybreak, and training for the Fifth Third River Bank Run I’m being pulled and challenged and it’s easy to feel like giving up on any one of those. Thankful for God’s encouragement and truth today.
