Last Training Run Before The Big Day, Remembering The Cause

I got 11 miles in this morning even though it was raining. With being stuck inside, and at home, pretty much all the time, I was glad to get out end enjoy the end of my run in some daylight. When I finished I enjoyed getting on a Zoom call with the #HWI team and catching up a little bit. I set out to get a 6 mile run in, unfortunately when I was just past 5 miles I had an upper leg cramp hit me. I had to stop and walk if off before I could start back up again. Then nature called and it was a rush to get home. A lot of things to throw off my morning. Hopefully this week I can at least 4 runs in and back on a normal schedule. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun

As I was running in the rain this morning it got me thinking about the hardship that the rainy season causes for many in Sierra Leone. Like those that work for Enable The Children, the children with disabilities ministry, and those that #ETC supports. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun It’s crazy to think that something like rain, which should be a blessing to a people in desperate need of clean water, could cause hardship. For many though, the rainy season makes it challenging to get around and do things like sell their goods at the market. A well also brings safety during the rainy season both from a health standpoint as well as from the risks of trying to gather water from moving water like streams. Help…
