Final Training Run Before The Groundhog Marathon

Things were a bit off, and out of the normal, this morning. It actually started last night as I discovered that the #Endomondo service was apparently down, which meant I couldn’t load my training plan to see what my last run would be. Then this morning the Endomondo app on my phone wouldn’t even load right. Since my smartwatch came with #Strava built-in, and I’ve been syncing data there, I decided to give it a go on my run. It worked out well enough, except the watch and phone apps don’t talk to each other in real-time which meant I had no audio coaching and no real-time stats, including heart rate, pace, etc. Looking at my final stats I knocked the run out with flying…

Back In The Saddle As The Groundhog Day Marathon Draws Near

After an extra day of rest after my Saturday long run in back at it. It’s crazy to think that 1 week ago I ran in like 40° colder temps. We’ve had a pretty mild winter in Michigan. At this point there is no be telling what marathon day will be like, which is all other more reason to be hitting the pavement regardless of what the weather is like. During my run this morning I enjoyed listening to my running worship music but I also took some time to lift up the many medical needs of those I know. It seems like these days terrible medical conditions are constantly all around us. I’m thankful for the gift of an awesome eternal life free from…

A Little Sprinkle To Liven Up The Run

I wasn’t sure what I was going to end up running in this morning when the forecast called for rain. It really only ended up being a tiny bit of drops here and there, but I was prepared either way. It’s interesting what you get used to after awhile of running. There was a time that rain meant a treadmill run. These days, unless there is life threatening weather you couldn’t keep me inside. This morning while running I got to thinking about how much the world today seems to be trying to tear families apart. It’s very apparent that Satan knows that he can gain a foothold by attacking families. I see so many throw in the towel on their family all because they…

Overcoming The Tough Interval Training Runs

After a couple of weeks of tough interval runs I finally nailed one pretty well. I think my take away is that when it comes to training, as with much in life, you are going to have hard days that you can barely get through. Those are the days you have to have in order to have growth and future success. So we need to celebrate the hard days just as well as good days. #HWI #Run4Water #WhyIRun #GRGus Donate to Water, to Life – https://timn.me/2t9D4ne

New Hill Training Route And Focus On Why I Run

New training route this morning, something with a bit more hills. I was still a little soar from the half marathon on Saturday but there wasn’t any noticable increase in pain during my run which is encouraging. I spent time specifically focusing on why I run and thinking back on my time in Sierra Leone. I prayed specifically for our ETC sponsored child and his mother. I also took time to pray for some of my co-workers that I know have been going through some tough life stuff recently. #HWI #GRMarathon #Run4Water #SierraLeone #WhyIRun
