Training During The Winter, Treadmill Alternatives
So up until the end of December I’d been sticking out running outside. Since the snow began to fly I’ve taken things indoors on the dreaded treadmill. 😉 Currently the treadmill running has been thanks to a great 3-month deal on a gym membership. Once we move into our new house in February/March I’ll be on our own treadmill, which we picked up cheap(used) before Christmas. I’m planning on joining some of the Hope Water Project – Team Daybreak group runs starting this Saturday, which brings me to considering what it means to run in the cold. I saw this link today on this fancy device for an exercise ball to make it a chair. My co-worker has an exercise ball in his office he sometimes sits on. This Balance Ball Chair seems a little bit of a half attempt at the whole concept, seems like you’d lose some of the benefits of just using the exercise ball itself, but at least you have less of a chance of falling off right. ? I’ve been listening to podcasts for the better part of the last 10+ years. There have been many that have come and gone, and for sure I’ve enjoyed them all. There is however 1 podcast that currently remains on my must listen to list. That is Security Now with Steve Gibson, hosted by Leo Laporte. If there is one podcast that I still can’t manage to miss it Security Now. It get’s pretty deep but also has enough light aspects that even non-geeks can get something out of it.
