Being Prepared For Parenting

As much as I’d like to think that I was ready to parent the fact is that I owe a lot to my wife. If it wasn’t for my wife’s knowledge and experience my kids wouldn’t have had the experiences they have had so far. I’m still learning everyday day how to be a better parent.

Virtual 5K Group Run For Clean Water

Yesterday, was the #HWI annual 5K group run, though this year it was “virtual” since we can’t gather yet. It’s definitely not the same to just gather for a video call and then run on your own. Missing hearing the bells ring as I cross the finish line. A Little Bit of Hill Training

I haven’t run into a race course yet that didn’t have some hills. When you are training it’s important to do some hill training if you don’t want to get caught off guard with hills during your race. Between sidewalks and paved trails, we are pretty blessed with the conditions we have to run in. In stark contrast, for most in #SierraLeone the road to water is dangerous. So What’s Been Going On…

I think I’m going to work my way back on this one. I’ll start with today and work my way backwards. (ok, as I start I realized it’s much easier to start at the beginning of a day and work through it, so this is going to be kind of weird to follow, oh well) Before I begin I have to say, the saying that “dogs are a man’s best friend” is so true. My dog Sweetie is so awesome. Show me a cat that picks up on the meaning of “It’s time for bed”. Dog’s have all the smarts, they’re awesome.
