Nothing Exciting, But Frustrated…

Well, nothing special today. I didn’t even get up until like noon. I was up late, as is most nights. Did some lunch then back to the blog. This blog thing has really taken over. I think the big thing is it’s my only outlet for for talking, don’t really have anyone to hang out with. I really don’t know that anyone would want to sit and listen to me talk about this stuff anyways. I’d be surprised if people even want to read all my dribble. Didn’t connect with any of my friends today, either. They’re probably out of town for the holiday weekend.

The thing that frustrated me today was stuff with my brother and parents. I won’t get into it, but it’s no fun to go visit your family and feel like you would rather have not gone. Don’t get me wrong I love my family, but I just don’t get how people can’t be understanding and try to be calm about things.

We’re heading to the State Fair tomorrow, I hope things don’t get out of hand there. We’re going with my aunt & uncle. Thing that bothers me is that we’re going early in the morning and not going to church. I guess it’s not the end of the world, but I was hoping to perhaps see people too. I’ll be downloading Grace LC in WA sermon podcast, hope it’ll be available, so I’ll get a chance to hear a Sunday message through that. Well, I’m going to sign off tonight. I’ve been a little long winded lately. Hey it’s my blog right! 🙂

    When God Calls for Patience…

    I’ve been caught up tonight in some major Google searching. “For what” you may ask, “where is God leading me?”. The realm of my searching was community of faith, postmodern youth outreach, and reading some about the idea of the emergent church. What does this all mean? I have no clue.     Day Camp in Kathirie, Celebration And Sharing The Love

    Today started off a little bit slower. There was a little bit of a communication problem with breakfast but it all worked out with plenty of time before our World Hope transportation arrived. Terry and I actually had a little time to chat with some of the hotel staff after breakfast during and after the butchering of our goat. Yes, Terry and I got to see them butchering “litte Ron” as some of us liked to call him. We explained a little bit about Hope Water International and the partnership with World Hope.     First Day in Sierra Leone

    I had a great night’s sleep at the hotel. Where we are staying there are multiple buildings of rooms. Each of us has our own room and bathroom. I was honestly blown away with the accommodations. As I mentioned to my wife, I was humbled by the accommodations compared to living conditions we passed by on our drive to the hotel the previous evening. After breakfast, which included eggs, toast, fruit, and a hotdog, we loaded up in the World Hope vehicles on our way to Kethirie for church. It was so amazing to experience worship with the people of Kathirie and listen to the pastor and children’s ministry teacher give messages.     Seeing God…

    (John 14:1-14) When Christ was here on Earth in and among the Disciples, man was able to see God first hand. Even then the Disciples didn’t quite get it, not really realizing that they had God among them. Today it might seem that we don’t have the benefit of seeing God as the Disciples did, however the Holy Spirit does live among us. I’m reminded of the sermon that Christ gave about the “sheep” and the “goats” as they came to heaven and Christ seperated them based on how they served and loved others.
